As new missionaries, we have already had a taste this year of how rich the love of our brothers and sisters can be. We have been welcomed with open arms by congregations from coast-to-coast as we sought the funds to live and work in Cusco. We want to thank all of our supporting congregations and individual families for the love you’ve shown us not only with “word or with tongue, but in deed and truth” (1 John 3:18).
During our last month in the States, we’ve been showered with prayers and send-offs. Estes church of Christ, our overseeing congregation, hosted a wonderful workshop for our families and supporting churches to help them learn more about the mission. Grundy Street church of Christ, Ryan’s home congregation, hosted an ice cream social, and at Sarah’s home congregation, Warner’s Chapel church of Christ, we were sent off with a congregation-wide fellowship meal. Also, when we worshipped with the Mt. Juliet church of Christ before our departure, Doug Perry, a liaison for the missions committee, offered a special prayer on our behalf.
All of you have truly touched our hearts and energized us for the work ahead. We are so thankful for you!
